Areas of Interest
HEFN currently supports funder collaboration in three
particular areas:
- HEFN Catalysts for a Healthy Future is a funder collaborative
to strengthen and align grantmaking in support of precautionary approaches
towards chemicals and other environmental threats to health.
- Working Group on Environmental Health and Environmental Justice
around environmental exposures, health disparities, capacity-building of
low-income communities and communities of color.
- Working Group on Women and Environmental Health with
interests both in environmental health issues of concern to women and in
the roles of women in the environmental health movement.
Other Areas of Interest:
- Children’s environmental health and healthy schools.
- Integrity of science: a joint effort with other funder groups
concerned about threats to the integrity of science on environmental health
and other issues.
- Climate change, air quality, and health, including
clean air standards and transitions from a “dirty energy” economy to
clean energy.
- Key Communities, Constituencies, and Allies, including
environmentally health-affected groups, health care professionals, labor,
faith, industry
